论霹雳坝罗大伯公古庙信仰的形成与祭祀仪式 The Formation of Belief and Rituals of Perak Paloh Da Bo Gong Temple

庙宇,可谓是19世纪华南移民所带来最早立足本土的文化根苗,这些根苗随着华人的定居而落地生根,并衍生蔓延,常壮成长。由于华人先贤远洋航行来到新环境,期间所经历的艰辛万苦,让他们意识到生命之渺小,因此他们将信仰寄托于神灵身上,希望得到神灵的庇佑以达到心灵的慰藉。而早期的庙宇,除了是当地民众寄托信仰、寻求庇佑之地,也同时具备着强大的社区功能,如马六甲的青云亭在早期是具有对华侨内部的事务、纷争,进行裁判、调停的功能,功能之大仿如当地华侨的民间法庭。但无奈千时代变迁,庙宇早期的功能已逐渐被民间政党或华团所替代,其对千华人文化以及华社的推动及贡献已逐渐被人遗忘,仅留下民间信仰一块。因此本文将以坝罗大伯公古庙为例,探讨其在怡保所扮演的角色以及社区功能,坝罗大伯公古庙在怡保市民的眼里所扮演的角色及古庙对当地人的影响与贡献。尤其是在战前的贡献,坝罗大伯公古庙除了是当地一间香火不断的庙宇之外,在当时也充当着医馆、聚集地等等的作用。除了以上所说的几点,笔者也会着墨千古庙中的神灵与祭祀仪式的作用性,从生理乃至心理层面进行全面探讨,尝试整理现有的历史资料以及各式各样关千此庙的资料,还原其完整面貌。
Chinese temples may be regarded as the earliest cultural root of the Chinese in Malaya. The migrants in the new enviromnent sought solace in their gods. Temples initially served as a place of worship and also fulfill various community functions. However, these functions were gradually assumed by political parties and various Chinese organizations and the temples became confined to playing their role merely as places of worship.
This paper attempts to recount the multiple roles played by temples by means of a case study of Paloh Da Bo Gong temple in Ipoh. Apart from serving as a place of worship, it also serves as a community centre and a dispensary of the local people. The various deities worshipped and religious rituals will be discussed from different perspectives. It is from the various materials on the temple that a more complete account of its roles and functions may be pieced together.
