Abstract

一行禅师 (1926-2022) 是越南和尚、作家、诗人、社会活动家和和平倡导者,在世界上具有重要影响。他在上世纪60年代发起“入世佛教” (Engaged Buddhism) 运动被看作是现代佛教的新趋势,并逐渐在世界上特别是欧美各国被广泛接受。由此可见,一行禅师”入世佛教”活动不仅给世界各地的佛教生活增添新的活力,而且对世界人们的精神生活产生了深远的影响。通过考察文献、历史学方法和系统研究,本文将探讨一行禅师”入世佛教”活动的概念、内涵,同时指出他在参与活动和弘法生活中的表现、特征与价值。

Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh (1926 - 2022) was a Vietnamese monk, writer, poet, social activist, and peace advocate with great influences on the world. He began the "Engaged Buddhism" movement in the 1960s and it is known as a new trend of modern Buddhism. It is gradually accepted widely in the world, especially in European countries and the United States today. It can be said that Zen Master Thich Nhat's "Engaged Buddhism" activities not only gave a new life to Buddhism, it also had a deep influence on the
spiritual life of human beings around the world. By examining documents, employing historical study methods, along with systematic research, this article will discuss the concept and connotation of Thich Nhat Hanh's "Engaged Buddhism" activities, and at the same time point out his performance, characteristics, and value in participating in activities, in addition to his life preaching the Dharma.
