Monk Tue Trung (1230-1291) was a distinguished thinker, poet, statesman and strategist. A Buddhist monk of the Chen Dynasty in Vietnam, his thought was a combination of Mahayana Prajna, Buddhist philosophy and Southern Zen Buddhism. Hence, his Zen thought had a profound impact on the "Bu Er" (non-difference) thought. Tue Trung's thought is people-oriented and serves as a very important guide in real life. This paper discusses and analyses the concept of "Bu Er' through "being and nothing", "mortals and saints", "heart and state" from the perspectives of Ti(body), Xiang(phase) and Yong (application). The analysis further explains Huizhong's understanding of Zen and how his thought has influenced the Buddhism in Vietnam.
