班达马兰新村华人神庙 Chinese Temples in Pandamaran New Village

Abstract

在巴生港口班达马兰新村（以下简称班村），华人神庙（即民间信仰场所）林立。神庙多是班村的特色之一。华人神庙研究是班村地方史书写不可或缺的组成部分。班村华人神庙所供奉的神灵包括源自中国的神灵及本土神灵（拿督公和拿督娘娘）两大类。神庙即为民间信仰实践的场所，而民间信仰也是一种宗教体系，在其看似分散的表象背后隐藏着自己的秩序与规则。本文倾向于认为民间信仰兼具宗教性和民俗性，而其本质特征应是宗教性。本文通过班达马兰村40座华人神庙之资料调查，就神庙所供奉之神灵渊源及民间信仰性质，作出初步报告，以期增进各界对班村华人神庙及其民间信仰内容的了解。

The large number of Chinese temples found in Pandamaran New Village is a striking phenomenon. Chinese temples and folk beliefs are important cultural heritage of the Chinese community. This is especially true in Pandamaran where research on Chinese temples becomes an innegligible part in the studies of this village. The deities worshipped comprise local and foreign i.e. those originated from China (male and female Datuk Keramat). Folk beliefs associated with Chinese is considered a part of Chinese religion. Based on the survey conducted on 40 Chinese temples, this paper will give a general outline of the different deity worships and the nature of folk beliefs in Pandamaran New Village in order to enhance a better understanding of the subject.
