Waldorf education was introduced to Malaysia at an early stage, contributing significantly to the development of Waldorf education and the establishment of schools in the country. Although Malaysia’s Waldorf education system has now expanded to include secondary schools, many parents still choose to enroll their children, who have attended Waldorf preschools, in Chinese primary schools. The primary reason lies in the unique philosophy of Waldorf preschool education, which is vastly different from that of traditional kindergartens. Its curriculum design is unconventional, and the number of Waldorf schools is limited. As a result, parents tend to transition their children from Waldorf preschools to mainstream Chinese primary schools, sparking discussions about how to effectively bridge Waldorf education with Chinese primary school education. Based on previous research findings, this paper examines the challenges faced by children transitioning from Waldorf preschool education to Chinese primary schools and proposes corresponding strategies and recommendations to address these issues.
